Performance is benchmarked against the Russell 1000 Value index, providing a comprehensive assessment.
Maintaining concentration with 6 to 10 stocks, the Focus Value Portfolio spans various market caps, excluding stocks below $250 million. International stocks are considered, capped at 40%. Sector allocations are limited to 30%, subdivided into static and opportunitistic mini-sleeves, comprising unfavorable subsectors and quality stocks facing downward pressure, respectively.

The static stocks undergo comprehensive technical screening and macr0-economic analysis, focusing on companies with short-term strength or temporary weakness. Valuation metrics are used to refine the selection. Fundamental analysis of balance sheets, cash flow, and income statements provides opportunity of quality and a margin of safety. The final watchlist undergoes further technical and fundamental analysis, resulting in the selection of 5-7 stocks.
Opportunistic stocks are chosen during unusual market events, employing similar technical and fundamental analyses. This section may involve more active trading and can be held in cash during periods of no apparent opportunities.
